Aletta Marshall
Lead Therapist

I’m Aletta, founder of ABC Counselling, and I’m passionate about helping couples rediscover connection, hope, and strength in their relationships. As one of the trusted counsellors in Mackay, I specialise in Couples Counselling and relationship support, walking alongside people as they navigate life’s challenges and grow together in meaningful ways.

My journey began in Namibia, and over the years it has been shaped by diverse experiences — from business ownership and education to nearly 30 years in aged care, including dementia support. Those years deeply formed my understanding of compassion, resilience, and the importance of truly listening to people’s stories.

I’ve always loved teaching and empowering others, which led me into training and leadership roles within the community. Being recognised as a Queensland Training Awards Finalist in 2022 was a special milestone, but what matters most to me is seeing people gain confidence, skills, and hope.

Today, in my private practice, I create a safe and supportive space where couples and individuals can be heard without judgment. My approach blends professional expertise with warmth, honesty, and genuine care. I believe healthy relationships are built with intention, courage, and the right support — and it’s a privilege to be part of that journey.

At heart, everything I do is grounded in resilience, compassion, and a deep commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
